Okay, maybe just a little bit more fireweed. It's so cheery! At our guard station there was a little bit right in the lawn, which mystified us until we realized someone had run a trench through there maybe a year ago. It's a very good pioneer species no matter the circumstances, apparently.

Paintbrush, fireweed, and huckleberries made a pretty good trifecta. We'd lucked out and found quite a few thimbleberries, as well, but good ones were bit rare – more often, they were slightly mealy.
